Wiser about Neurosarcoidosis AMC Neurology

In the summer of 2015 we have established a tertiary referral center for patients with neurosarcoidosis. Supervision concerning the care of patients suspected of or diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis is being done by the neurologists Prof. Dr. Diederik van de Beek and Dr. Matthijs Brouwer. Patients are being seen every thursday morning at the neurosarcoidosis outpatient clinic in the AMC by Drs. Daan Fritz, who is a resident in neurology. Care for these patients is multidisciplinary. Multidisciplinary meetings are being held every week on friday in the AMC (KIR meeting) and once a month with the center of excellence for sarcoidisis in the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam.

Neurosarcoidosis AMC

Neurosarcoidosis AMC is part of the 'Neuroinfections Amsterdam' research group. This group consists of medical doctors and researchers involved in conducting research evaluating epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnostics and treatment of neurological infections, infections in neurological disorders and neuro-inflammatory disorders. Here you can find more information about how to refer to our center and the research we are currently conducting in the AMC.

Tertiary referral center sarcoidosis AMC

We are a tertiary referral center for patients with sarcoidosis. Care for patients with sarcoidosis is complex. Our opinion is that because the disease is relatively rare, care for these patients with severe manifestations of the disease should preferably be performed in a few specialized hospitals. We want to improve healthcare for these patients. Part of this is a specialist outpatient clinic for sarcoidosis patients with a multidisciplinary approach. Additionally, we have started various scientific research projects, aimed at improving the diagnostic process and treatment of this disease. Below you can find more information concerning the pulmonary medicine department, who we are, what kind of research we are conducting and how you can refer patients to us.
